    Did you know the story of Magical Mushroom Johnson? Come, come, listen to the story of the mushroom master, Earvin Johnson. Since he was young, he was interested in mushrooms. He kept on studying on mushrooms whenever he has free time. His parents wanted him to play sports to make him leave his house and stop experimenting on toxic and poisonous mushrooms. So he was forced to play basketball.
    But, he was trash at basketball, so trash that the even the coach and teammates didn’t want to see him in practice. He was depressed. But then he had an idea. He rushed back home and picked some mushrooms, and decided to make his greatest invention of all, the Magical Mushroom.
    From that day on, he would stay hidden after school and sneak into the science lab to steal chemicals, and take them back to home to work on. Days and days of working, a few years passed.
    One morning he tried to use his “Magical Mushrooms” to see if he can use it to swish the basket at his backyard, but he was caught by his father and his father locked the mushrooms in a safe. Luckily for Johnson, he took one bit of mushroom. He went to his backyard, tried to shoot, but he failed. He was more depressed than ever, he thought he had wasted all of his time. He wanted to commit suicide. He thought of consuming the mushroom, he assumed that would kill him in no time.
    It was three o'clock in the morning. He was standing, barefoot, in front of the safe. Not to get caught, he cracked the lock as stealthily as he can, and took out his mushrooms. The moment the bag of mushrooms is open, he gluttonously devour the entirety of it. He was ready to die. But he did not know the power of the mushrooms. Empowered by the God of Mushrooms, he felt the mushroom powers course through his veins. He grew stronger. He felt that he is now able to control the mushrooms. And that gave him hope, the hope to live on and succeed.
    One day as usual he left his home to basketball training. While he was in the locker room changing, he took a small bag from his backpack, and put it in his pocket. When the pickup game started, he somehow got the ball after the jump ball. He put one hand to reach his pocket, and there he took something out from the bag in his pocket. A mushroom. That is no normal mushroom.
    It’s one of his Magical Mushrooms. He used his unique way to control the mushroom, to consume the mushroom, to use the mushroom. He felt the power, he was ready, he shot from the half court line. Swish. The teammates were all shocked to see that. His coach said, “Hey Earvin, keep shootin’ half court shots you’ll soon be kicked out of the team, it’s just a lucky shot.” But Earvin Johnson did not care what the coach said. The next possession he took the ball, and did a full court behind the back alley-oop pass to his teammate and scored. Even his opponents clapped, everyone is amazed to see the show.
    Since then, the name “Earvin Johnson” was heard all around the neighbourhood. “The full court swisher”, “The playmaking god”, “Mr. 120 in 30 minutes” and more nicknames were heard around. He became the VIP of the local mushroom product store, he was the owner of the mushroom picking ground, he became famous of mushroom related things. And that earned him the name “Magical Mushroom Johnson”.
    With the power of his mushrooms, he dominated in high school and college, it won him the NCAA championship. He then declared for the NBA draft. And with the first pick of the 1979 NBA draft, the Los Angeles Lakers selected Earvin “Magical Mushroom” Johnson. He ended up as an all star starter and all rookie first team. He went on to the NBA finals and won the NBA championship and finals MVP in his rookie season thanks to his mushroom powers. He then won a total of 5 championships in his career, got 3 MVP and 3 finals MVP, and 12 All star selections. He also got a statue of him outside of Lakers Staples Centre.
    But in sometime during 1991, he lost all of his Magical Mushrooms. Knowing that playing without his mushrooms will make everyone know who he really is, he decided to make up something and then retire. So in 1991, he announced that he “has” HIV and has to retire immediately. After he retired, he tried to re-invent his Magical Mushrooms but he has lost the recipe and could not make them the same again. He tried to get back to the NBA using his newly invented mushrooms but they are much less powerful, making his trash. And he never stepped on the hardwood ever again.
    Even though his career ended suddenly, we would not forget Magical Mushroom Johnson’s legacy. From inventing his mushrooms to ending his career, he has done a lot and we all admired him as a role model.
    And that’s the story of the great Magical Mushroom Johnson.
